June 28th

in Rome
staying at Isabelle McDonnell's apartment.
I do tourist things every other day.
trying to space out my things to see
over a period of 8 days.
its a long time to be in an unknown city completely alone.
2 days ago walked all day long from 12:30 to 5:30
never stopping and always finding.
pictures of my "situation" later.
the days when i dont go out far and about
i walk the streets of this near neighborhood
narrow with lots of bar cafes
watch music videos on mtv in italian
smoke cigarettes and eat cous cous
and biscuits and drink tea.
play guitar. write.
i come back to the small world which i love so dear,
one week from today.

June 19th

i am back in the countryside near milan.
i am at the first farm i was at and it is even better the second time.
river swimmings, bbqs, beer on top of the stable at night, dirt, all the time dirt.
and the best gelato.
coconut and straciatella is my favorite combo.
the vegetable garden is flourishing and we eat zucchini from it everynight in different forms.
one way to eat the zucchini flower is to mmix flower and water and fry them.
so delicious.
i go on to rome in a few days.
i have learned things in great quantities. big and small about food and about me.
i cannot wait to come and share my new ideas about food with everyone.

June Second

create, grow vegetables, build things out of wood and metal and garbage, live with warmth and smiling, brew beer make pizza, sell goods, dig in the dirt pet the dogs smell the poop.
I want to live!
I am living!
